FC Barcelona – Top Four Players

FC Barcelona is without a doubt one of the greatest clubs in the history of European Football. They’ve recently won treble and done what no other club has done before, some are calling it the finest team ever assembled but off this team of skill and natural talent who are the stars that outshine everyone? Here’s our four top picks as the greatest FC Barcelona players of all time. Starting from the best to the best here’s our list; Ronaldo de Assis Moreira Is hands down the greatest FC Barcelona player to ever play with the team and possibly the game of soccer. This man is absolutely incredible and a pure delight to watch. He’s been given so many honors that it’s ridiculous to even think of naming them all. He was offered 85 million GBP to stay with the team which he rejected in hopes of receiving other deals. We don’t know if he’s going to stay with the team for long but he’s definitely one of the greats when it comes down to its history. Carles Puyol i Saforcada Who would have thought in 1995 that a young Puyol playing for the B team would later become 3 time captain for FC Barcelona and lead them to many victories? Puyol was also called to captain the Spanish National Team. Carles is one of the greatest defenders the game has seen; he plays very well with his teams and takes some of the best photographs I have seen! Thierry Daniel Henry Making his professional debut in 1994 since then he has become France’s top scorer of all time and a marketable face for many products such as Nike, Reebok, Pepsi and Gillette. He is also a spokesperson against racism in football. In recent years Henry has been picked up by FC Barcelona and is currently showing ton’s of potential as one of the team’s top scorers. Lionel Andres “Leo” Messi Another superb Soccer Player who’s been with Barcelona since the 2005 season and has shown that he can provide the proper team work and has the individual skill to hold his own. He was the youngest footballer to ever play in a La Liga game and is one of the best wingers to ever play the game. Always finishing seasons as top scorers he also holds an Olympic gold medal on top of many other honors. Hopefully you now know a little more about your favorite players and how they became to be the superstars we know them as today. We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing their future prospects with FC Barcelona.

5: Slapshot

Slap Shot is a 1977 Hollywood film starring Paul Newman and Michael Ontkean and directed by George Roy Hill. The film is based on a book written by Nancy Dowd, based in part on her brother Ned Dowd’s experiences playing minor league hockey in the United States in the seventies, during which time violence, especially in the low minors, was the selling point of the game. Slapshot is the movie that made ” the Hanson brothers ” Famous. Unfortunatley in todays NHL violence is discouraged!

4: Jerry Maguire Jerry Maguire is a 1996 Comedy about a sports agent who loses his job and has his life is turned upside down. Jerry is forced to start from scratch. He’s joined on his journey to redemption by two unlikely allies: Rod Tidwell, a second-tier wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals; and Dorothy Boyd, a wistful 26-year-old single mother who departs her accountancy position with SMI for a very uncertain future with her new boss. While the movie itself was pretty good , it will always be remembered for some of the best qoutes of all time. Jerry Maguire can take credit for coining the phrase : “Show me the money !”

4: Bull Durham

Bull Durham is a 1988 American romantic comedy about baseball. It is based upon the minor league experiences of “Crash Davis” (Kevin Coster) and depicts the players and fans of the Durham Bulls, a minor league team in Durham, North Carolina.Costner stars as “Crash” Davis, a veteran catcher brought in to teach rookie pitcher Ebby Calvin “Nuke” LaLoosh (Tim Robbins) about the game in preparation for reaching the Major Leagues.       It seems that Kevin Costner may have been put on this earth to make movies about baseball!

2 : Rocky

Rocky is a 1976 film about the unknown fighter Rocky Balboa who takes the world heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed, through 15 hard fought rounds, won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, plus garners a host of other nominations. Rocky, written and starring Sylvester Stallone, is inspired by the surprising 15-round fight of Bayonne boxer Chuck Wepner against Muhammad Ali in 1975 and spawns five sequels.Unfortunately the sequels will not make any of our top 100 lists. Rocky IV might just make our list of the worst ever sports movies. The theme of USA vs Russia in the 80′s looks so silly when you watch these propoganda filled films today!

1: Field Of Dreams

Field of Dreams is a 1989 film about Baseball, which stars Kevin Costner, as an Iowa farmer who plows his crops to build a field for the ghosts of the disgraced Chicago ‘Black Sox’ to play on, and Ray Liotta, as Shoeless Joe Jackson, is based on the W.P. Kinsella novel, ‘Shoeless Joe.’ Kevin Coster was definately born to make movies about baseball. Field of Dreams tops our list of the best sports movies of all time. If your kids have not yet seen this movie you should get them to download it right away!

Disclaimers :

1: Nascar , We will not consider any movies about Nascar in our list because we do not consider this passtime a sport. Nascar is only popular with uneducated , overweight rednecks in the southern states of USA. If you find it entertaining to watch cars drive around in circles you have serious issues!

2: Golf , we will not consider any movies about golf in our list because we think golf is for pussies and old people. Real men do not watch golf on TV!

3: Tennis , Same as Golf !

4: Soccer , we would have liked to include a movie about soccer but we could not think of any great soccer movies ? Vinny jones has certainly been is some great movies , but none of them were about soccer.
